the most common tale is, when Selmer bought Buescher, they shelved the THC-pedigree design, made the Aristocrat the 400 Model (post THC), made the Elkhart 20A/30A the Aristocrat, and made the Bundy a cheapened version of the 20/30A. Looking at serials, it was more likely a Buescher-Buescher decision, not a Selmer one. Some folks say it happened as a result of the buyout, but I withhold judgment on that. The 400's underwent a transition somewhere around the time of the Selmer buyout. ![]() Those were exemplary (although quite honestly, I find the 'Crats of the same period to be just as good although they blow a bit narrower than the THC's). The creme de la creme 400's are the THC's, as we know.
